Mine's a growing business too...

When Lacuna first started out a couple of years ago, it was to help out some friends starting their own businesses. My background in editing, technical writing and web content design meant I could help them out with their websites and setting up some basic business templates.

But I soon found that their needs extended beyond grammatical expertise and they needed help with their whole communications strategy. They needed to project a cohesive and convincing voice in all their documents, in order to keep winning new business and growing their customer base.

Although I was paid in dinners and wine in the early days, I was excited to be a part of their growth and now success. I learned so much about how their needs as a small business differed from those of the corporate world I work in. They wanted to be professional, but not to sound like every other business out there.

Lacuna was established to help small businesses communicate their unique identity to customers and industry peers. We do this by listenting and understanding the character of your business and then helping you develop cohesive, professional and successful communications.

Nobody has to know your office is a garage. And they never will if you have the right documentation.
