Kinde was my first foray into true SaaS startup. I was lured out of freelancing by an offer I couldn't refuse from a founder who I used to work with at Atlassian. And I loved it. While the company had ups and downs (downs being the fate for my role) I did the most satisfying and meaningful work of my life there. Read on.
One of my most cherished freelance jobs was the Tidal Ventures website and blogs. I walked in expecting another standard job of scoping, writing, and review. But Tidal wanted a content-driven, highly branded, standout, rich, and innovative site. I love the freedom of expression that comes with a tight and clear brief and a brand that knows itself really well. Check it out.
I love a message house. I've built a few. They simultaneously democratise and contain the core value propositions and key messages of a business. I feel safe using them because they contain only what has been agreed and approved by all the main stakeholders. Nothing is off topic. Nothing is fluff. It's all considered. Activate one using AI like I did at StoreConnect, and you've got a new in-house copywriter who never runs out of things to say. More about message house.
